Winning Emerging Coach of the Year

EmergingAward_TraceyWINNEROn Friday night I attended the first Beautiful You Coaching Academy Awards night in Melbourne, where I gratefully received the award for the 2014-2016 Emerging Coach of the Year (still soaking that in!) The whole night from start to end was absolutely amazing, and I’m still riding high from being in a room with such huge-hearted women that are stepping up into their power and leading the way for others in a BIG way.

As I was flying back to Perth on Saturday, I was reflecting on all the incredible opportunities, connections and most importantly, the love that has floated on into my life over the past 12 months since graduating as a Beautiful You Life Coach.

But first, let’s back-track a little where it all started for me…

You can’t always connect the dots going forward – only looking back.

When I was little I always wanted to be a teacher, but not in the traditional sense. I knew that I wanted to teach but I never saw myself teaching in a school, which confused the crap outta me! I knew it was going to be something different and I just knew I wanted to help the World in some way. I also had a dream of being a radio-host and a singer, and would record myself speaking with a microphone at home (HAHA! I hope those tapes are long gone!) I somehow always felt the power and energy of using my voice hoping that I would be able to use it one day in a way that would inspire others. I also never realised until a few months ago that creative writing and my crazy imagination were always rewarded top marks throughout my subjects in primary and secondary school. Little did I know that writing would become a foundation for the way I expressed myself and helped others too – (P.S Putting it out there now, my book seeds are currently being planted and fertilised!)

First clue: NEVER limit yourself to the way things are ‘meant to look’. If you have an urge and a passion to do something in a new and different way – then DO IT. Create a new way for yourself. That’s YOUR gift to share with the world. Focus on what you love, and let the Universe take the wheel and work out the rest for you.

I soon forgot about those dreams and started listening to a voice in my head that told me to ‘get a real job’ because ‘only pretty, and famous people’ can live their dreams. So I went and did the Uni thing, because hey – that’s what everyone does (heads up: there is nothing wrong with that if it inspires the shiz out of you!)

12348436_10153355521853613_217465401_nUni is where I started becoming really disconnected from myself, and quickly got distracted from the work that I was truly meant to be doing for the World by partying up and falling into really unhealthy habits. I became disconnected from my true self in every sense of the word, and I thought that was just how life was meant to feel. I was chasing the ‘I should do this’ safe path rather than the one I knew in my heart I was actually meant to be doing. After having a sinking feeling in my stomach day after day, and just feeling like ‘is this seriously it? I just get a degree, get a house, go to work, tick off the lists… and that’s it?’ things started really bubbling up and getting uncomfortable for me.

Here’s the thing – you will get uncomfortable by your fears, but it’s nowhere near as uncomfortable as the feeling of not being congruent with your heart or reaching your full potential in this lifetime! (*EFF THAT!)

Limited beliefs and fear-based conditioning that had been ingrained into me suddenly started to crack once I realised that I didn’t actually want to go down the path I was on at the time. I didn’t want to keep feeling like crap, and just do the same thing as everyone else.
It didn’t make me feel anything,

Second Clue: If you aren’t inspired by the direction your life is going right now, then you have the power to change it! If what you are doing isn’t fulfilling or exciting to you, its OK! But this is your own red-flag indication that it’s not the besttttttt you’ve got to give in this lifetime. It’s not YOUR highest potential.

Long story short – leaving uni, cleaning things up, and changing my own life through reading personal development books like they were going out of fashion, getting my health back on track and respecting my body again, and re-connecting with myself on a deeper level – I started working as a personal trainer and Les Mills instructor (funny how I was starting to use my voice and speak with a microphone on stage to instruct… getting warmer Trace!), I soon realised I was teaching and helping others in some way, but still not to my greatest capacity. Still not the way I deeply wanted to.

After many hours of journaling and day-dreaming – I randomly (thanks angels) found the Beautiful You Coaching Academy, and holy shit has my life changed!! This is soo much more than just an academy for coaches!

Lead by the incredible CEO and Founder Julie Parker, this academy is creating a new blueprint of heart-driven coaches, teachers and leaders, and alongside the entire Beautiful You team, is changing the coaching industry not only in Australia, but the World.

The belief that the entire Beautiful You team pour into you, the ongoing support and growth, the regular inspiration days (umm by the way – I am off to Bali next month for the next coaching inspiration training day… pinch me?), the award nights, the personal development journey, regular contacts, the business support, the community of like-minded coaches cheering you on and all of the other countless opportunities that keep pouring in for you to step up and shine is just a smidgen of what you will receive from undergoing this life-changing course.

And being completely honest – when I signed up for the course I didn’t even know what a ‘Life Coach’ was, but I knew I needed to do this course. I knew I had to help others in a way that felt like I could completely be myself, and write my own rules.

One year after graduating, I know that I am doing what I was put on this Earth to do, and it’s only going to get more fun from here 😉

spencer_219If you are reading this, then maybe there is something in you that knows you are meant to help others in some way. You are born to be a leader, a teacher, a coach, a healer, or a lightworker, and maybe you just haven’t realised it yet, or you haven’t allowed yourself to believe you can actually do it in your own way.

Here’s what I want you to know about chasing your dreams and following the vision that your heart holds for you and YOUR life – you don’t need to worry about the ‘hows’ – you just need to follow that invisible pull and show up for the first step. And who care’s if no-one else ‘get’s it’ – YOU get it, and more importantly you feel it.

If you have an urge to coach, lead, heal, speak, teach, or just have a huge inner fire to serve and impact the lives of others but have no idea how or where to start – then the Beautiful You Life Coaching Course is your foundation, your starting point, and your absolute permission slip to follow that calling.

awardsWinning the 2014-2016 BYCA Emerging Coach of the Year Award leaves me beyond grateful, but what I am proudest of, as a result of undergoing training at the BYCA and being a part of this epic community, is that I am unapologetically emerging more as my true self.

I am so grateful to be part of a coaching community who are dedicated to elevating the lives of those around them, and I am beyond proud to be called a Beautiful You Life Coach. This academy is changing the game for the coaching industry, and I am so excited to be a part of it.

I am a loud and proud affiliate of the Beautiful You Coaching Academy, and if you are hearing the call louder than ever to step up in your life, I highly suggest you get in touch with the Academy soon. There are only a few places left in their October intake (the final round for 2016) – and I absolutely know it will sell out in the coming weeks.

This course may be calling your name for a reason you can’t quite understand yet – just like it did for me when I first signed up in October 2014, yep – just over a year ago!

If you take anything from this – coach or no coach – please just start saying YES to the most badass vision you hold for your life and start showing up for it today! If you can see it in your mind, and feel it in your heart, then you can absolutely create it for your life. Trust me on that.

There is no way it can’t come true unless you just sit there stalking everyone else’s dreams and waiting for yours to show up.

Follow the pull, trust yourself, believe in your awesomeness, create your own story and just say YES and figure the rest out later.

And head’s up, it will be even better than you can imagine now.

How to make the ‘right’ decision.

I’ve been going through a lot of internal upgrades and changes in my life lately that have called me to make some not so easy decisions. Making decisions can be really tough at times due to the fact that we automatically freak the eff out about making the ‘wrong decision’ soo much that we usually procrastinate and make no decision at all!

To make your life a little easier – especially if you are struggling with making a tough decision at the moment – ask yourself this big juicy question: “Is this moving me closer to my dreams, closer to my purpose, closer to my goals, closer to my true self? Or, is it keeping me from them?”

That’s all we should ever base our decisions on in my eyes, choosing the direction that is nudging you closer to your full potential and the life you truly want to be living – well that and following the path that’s going to bring you the MOST joy obviously. (numbers + BS excuses aside please)

I was chatting to a close friend about this a few days ago in relation to a decision I am trying to make at the moment. The thing with this decision is that it came out of nowhere while I was meditating on what my next step should be. It’s completely random, yet feels really natural? It’s just another one of those cheeky downloads that don’t care about life in 2 weeks time, they are thinking big picture deets only – and here’s why:

All we are ever being called to do is take the guidance we receive now, in this present moment, and put it to action. That’s our next step right there.

Straight away your logical mind (usually just your fears in disguise) will come bolting on in with the “It’s not logical?! Are you crazy? Move country now? Drop out of Uni in your third year? Change career direction again? Sign up for another course? Nope, I can’t. There’s no way. I ain’t doing it!” – sound familiar? (oh hey fear!)

But let’s get real about things for a second – living your dreams isn’t really ‘logical’, is it? Because living your dreams requires you to go where 99% of the population never will in their lifetime – the unknown zone. Trusting that inner knowing, and the goosebumps all over your body, and the joy in your heart over all the other noise of “you shouldn’t do it because of this, this AND this!”

Don’t get me wrong, we need our logical minds to survive, but there comes a time where you have to question it’s motives and ask yourself if doing what’s logical is really helping you thrive right now? Is it reallllllly allowing you to be who we came here to be? Is it encouraging you to live your dreams, or is keeping you from them? Is it allowing you to be free, and fully expressed, and creative, and excited for life?

Living a heart-driven life isn’t logical, because our intuition isn’t usually logical. Quitting the ‘safe’ job isn’t logical. Starting a business, or pulling out of your Uni degree 3 years in, or moving country to be with someone you love isn’t really logical. That’s because dreams aren’t meant to be logical – they’re meant to be wild, creative, inspiring, risky, exciting, out of the norm and fun.

Your intuition is allowed to (read: meant to) override the rules. That’s its purpose. It’s guiding you. Not your friends, not your Mum or Dad, not your cat – it’s guiding YOU.

“I can’t do this until x, y & z.” “I can’t commit until I KNOW what will happen next” (heads up – you don’t even truly know what’s going to happen next from this moment anyway, do you? So how will it be any different).

The Universe steps in with its superpowers only AFTER you say yes. You have to step first, otherwise how is it meant to know that you’re serious about it? The Universe cheers you on loudest when you choose your heart and intuition over all the other minor details.  Seriously though, priorities people!

Every decision you make is an opportunity to move closer to the life you want and the person you came here to be, or keep you away from it. It’s always your choice, and it’s only ever as hard as you make it out to be.

Let yourself be shit scared and more excited than ever before at the same time. That’s the sweet spot. Fear, self-doubt, second-guessing yourself a trillion times, feeling weird, getting growing pains, wanting to curl up in ball on the couch and hide from the World – that all comes along for the ride too, but not for long.

Feel your decision in your body right now. In your heart – not your head. Does the decision feel good in your body? Or does it feel uninspiring, dull, heavy? Your body knows what’s up.

The time is going to pass anyway. The money is going to be spent anyway. People are going to talk anyway – so you may as well follow what feels good FOR YOU, because that’s the journey you signed up for in this lifetime, remember?

Be inspired by your own life and follow the butterflies my friend.

They are always leading the way.

There is no need to fight back with attack

+ This post is a preview of what you can expect from Week 3 of my 8 week Head to Heart ecourse. Week 3 is where we start to cozy up and get to know the cheeky little negative voice in our heads +

How often does your mind jump on and attack others when you don’t get things your own way? How about when someone is pointing the blame at you for something and you instantly get fired up and offended and your mind starts to automatically attack back before you even know it is? And most of the time these thoughts are really negative and you swear they aren’t really yours?

Facing attack with more attack is one of the cheeky ways your mind keeps you in fear and separates you from love. Unconsciously attacking back in your mind only fuels and feeds your Ego’s (that crazy loud voice in your head that gets high on chaos and has a lifelong desire to always be right) fire and once again keeps you from your power of peace.

“Yeah but they did this first”, “Yeah but he’s not even that good looking anyway so I don’t care”, “Yeah well who cares what she thinks” – see how easy your mind can use attack and judgement as a defence mechanism when you get jealous, angry or are feeling not as good as someone else. The Ego creates this chaos and will keep making up excuses to bring others down to make you feel better. Always needing to be right and feel validated is the Ego’s work at its best!

When you look at this trick from a new perspective, you can start to realise that each time you have the desire to fight back, it’s not you running the show, it’s your Ego. It wants to keep firing up and dragging you down into this low energy of fear and negativity, which as you will have probably experienced before only leaves you feeling frustrated and frantic. Attacking back in your mind (and out loud) is seriously just like two angry dogs (ego’s) barking at each other and trying to play tough guy.

Can you also see how talking down about others and gossiping about them (another form of attacking) is simply your Ego’s tool to pump itself up to make you feel better? It’s a vicious cycle – and one that we all do easily and unconsciously. Now is the time to witness your Ego’s attacks, and rise above them by bringing acceptance and love to the table instead. This is not always easy, and your Ego will fire up and fight hard against the idea, so be extra compassionate and keep letting go one moment at a time with the tools you have learnt so far.

Again – you have to get brutally honest with your mind’s games here, which sometimes only cranks it up more! Simply laugh at your Ego’s littleness in these moments when it needs to keep fighting back and creating more chaos. It will come first and loudest so always check in and ask yourself – is this fueling my head or my heart?

Don’t beat yourself up or judge these attack thoughts that comes from nowhere and flare up in your mind because we all do this! It’s our unconscious pattern, and it’s time to consciously start breaking it down. Just become aware of when these thoughts arise, and use every opportunity you get to choose again and strengthen your commitment to bringing the love and peace, not the attack!

MANTRA: I can witness my attack thoughts and rise above them with love.

Notice today where your mind wants to fight back with more attack. Notice where you get easily offended and take things personally, or over-analyse something that someone said to you and let a story run wild in your mind about how they are always out to get you (classic Ego craziness). Question what the hidden agenda of your Ego really is. Does it need to be right? Is it going into victim mode and thinking ‘poor me’? It is trying to start a fight and keep you low vibin’?

At the end of the day reflect on today’s lessons in your journal.

What triggers my attack thoughts?

Why do I attack back?

How does attacking back make me feel?

What fires up my Ego most?

++ This post is straight from ‘Week 3 – Oh hello, Ego!” of my 8 week Head to Heart ecourse where I’ll teach you how to turn down the volume of the voice in your head and crank UP the volume of the voice in your heart. If you’re living all ‘up in your head’ all the time, then it’s time to get out of your head and back into your heart, and this course is your way out!

Enrollment for the final Round of 2017 close Friday the 19th of May.
