What happens when women get out of their heads and into their hearts?

I want to share 3 stories from 3 different women who I have had the privilege to work with through my Head to Heart Online course. I’ve gratefully been able to watch and witness each of them absolutely open up and shine in their own unique ways, and I want to share a snippet of their stories so that you know that it’s possible for you too.

HeidiYou may know Heidi as the crazy loud gal that keeps Will and Woody in line on their Perth hit92.9 Radio show Heidi, Will and Woody. I met Heidi last year at a Nude Yoga class (turns out to be the ultimate place for networking 😉 ) and we soon became great mates. I’ve watched Heidi transform, come more into her power and blossom in so many ways over the last year, and I was so honoured to have her join me in Round One of Head to Heart. The shifts I’ve seen in Heidi over the past couple of months since completely the course and since helping her understand the negative voice in her head have been so beautiful. I continue to watch her stepping more into her heart every single day, and I couldn’t be happier for her.

I’ve seen Heids really struggle at times, but she never ever gives up. She keeps showing up to the uncomfortable stages of growth so that she can show up even better in the World. One of the most inspiring things for me to witness is her inner strength. Heidi recently spoke up (on her public platform of thousands and thousands mind you) and expressed her ongoing battles with anxiety. She possibly saw this as no big deal, but in this moment of complete vulnerability and speaking from her heart, she was being a light and a voice for so many others out there thinking they were the only ones too.

She is now able to identify when her mind is running on crazy time and knows how to consciously stop and tone it back down – which for all of us is an ongoing practice and commitment. I’m beyond proud of everything that she is doing, to see her leading from her heart and using her platform to be a light for others.

You can follow Heidi’s journey and watch her recent interview with Today Tonight on anxiety here.

What I’ve seen in Heidi since getting out of her head and back into her heart: The COURAGE to be vulnerable, speak up, and be a light for others.

CherieI remember when I first met Cherie and all I thought was – “This girl has soo much love to give this World, she needs to own it”. I could feel it from day one that she just needed a little loving push. Like many of us that have a loud inner call to help others in some way and share good vibes with the World, (myself included!) there’s an equally loud inner voice that arcs up saying “Who are you to teach? You’re not good enough to do that. No-one will care. You won’t be as good as anyone else so why bother.” And thank the goddess we’ve remembered that this inner voice in our head will always be there to keep us safe, but the real voice that wants us to shine lies in our hearts. We don’t just hear it, we feel it. And that’s the voice we are here to listen to, and more importantly act on.

I was soo happy the day that I found out that Cherie had signed up and FINALLY said yes to one of her dreams – becoming a yoga teacher. It’s easy for the voice in our head to act out of fear and come up with the most creative stories disguised as ‘logic’ – “It’s too expensive. I’ll do it later when I’m ready. Now’s not the best time, maybe next year… ” they could go on and on, and they do! And we keep believing them and we keep being distracted from our true path, passions and purpose.

I’ve gratefully witnessed many of Cherie’s AHA moments and breakthroughs during Head to Heart and I’m so freakin’ happy to say that she is currently in Bali undergoing her yoga teacher training, something that may have never happened if she didn’t turn down the voice in her head that had been keeping her from shining and following her heart. When you say YES to your heart and show up for it – even when the fear is there too – the Universe takes note and shows up for you too.

I cannot wait to be front row in her first class and to see her beaming her light out in the beautiful way that only she can.

What I’ve seen in Cherie since getting out of her head and back into her heart: The COURAGE to own who she really is and to show up despite the fears.

EllaElla took part in the very first round of my Head to Heart course in Perth, and it’s been an honour to sit and watch her absolutely shine and align more and more with her true passion and purpose. I knew that all she needed was someone to remind her that she doesn’t need permission from anyone else to rock out and be who she wants to be. Whatever brings you the most joy and lights you up – that’s your purpose. Period. And I believe that it’s our responsibility to share it with the World and trust the inner knowing that things will always work out.

I remember during one of the sessions after leading the group through a meditation to drop them back into their hearts, I saw an instant shift in Ella and her first words coming out of the meditation were “I just want to paint. I need to paint.” And that was that. The seed was planted.

Ella has now started her own art business alongside her studies and is sharing her heart-driven creative gifts with the World. You can check out her absolutely beautiful paintings here. You want to know why it’s happened so quickly and joyfully? Because that’s exactly how alignment works. There’s no fluffing with it. When you follow what lights you up, magic happens. I am so so glad that Ella listened to her inner voice and is now spreading joy through her unique and wonderful creations. I’m lucky enough to have one of her first paintings hanging up in my dining room that brings me joy every single time I look at it.

What I’ve seen in Ella since getting out of her head and back into her heart: The COURAGE to own her passion and share her unique creative gifts with the World.

“Courage is a heart word. The root of the word courage is cor – the Latin word for heart. In one of its earliest forms, the word courage meant “To speak one’s mind by telling all one’s heart.”–Brené Brown

I’m so grateful to have had these women join me in Head to Heart, and to constantly be reminding me of the power of listening to, and living from your heart – no matter how big or small, it ALL matters. These are just a few examples of the things that can shift and happen when you get the heck out of your head and really crank up the volume of the voice in your heart.

So what I believe happens when women get out of their heads and back into their hearts? Courage… and fucking magic.

Never underestimate your ability to spread light and joy by having the courage to follow your heart and show the World who you really are.

There is no need to fight back with attack

+ This post is a preview of what you can expect from Week 3 of my 8 week Head to Heart ecourse. Week 3 is where we start to cozy up and get to know the cheeky little negative voice in our heads +

How often does your mind jump on and attack others when you don’t get things your own way? How about when someone is pointing the blame at you for something and you instantly get fired up and offended and your mind starts to automatically attack back before you even know it is? And most of the time these thoughts are really negative and you swear they aren’t really yours?

Facing attack with more attack is one of the cheeky ways your mind keeps you in fear and separates you from love. Unconsciously attacking back in your mind only fuels and feeds your Ego’s (that crazy loud voice in your head that gets high on chaos and has a lifelong desire to always be right) fire and once again keeps you from your power of peace.

“Yeah but they did this first”, “Yeah but he’s not even that good looking anyway so I don’t care”, “Yeah well who cares what she thinks” – see how easy your mind can use attack and judgement as a defence mechanism when you get jealous, angry or are feeling not as good as someone else. The Ego creates this chaos and will keep making up excuses to bring others down to make you feel better. Always needing to be right and feel validated is the Ego’s work at its best!

When you look at this trick from a new perspective, you can start to realise that each time you have the desire to fight back, it’s not you running the show, it’s your Ego. It wants to keep firing up and dragging you down into this low energy of fear and negativity, which as you will have probably experienced before only leaves you feeling frustrated and frantic. Attacking back in your mind (and out loud) is seriously just like two angry dogs (ego’s) barking at each other and trying to play tough guy.

Can you also see how talking down about others and gossiping about them (another form of attacking) is simply your Ego’s tool to pump itself up to make you feel better? It’s a vicious cycle – and one that we all do easily and unconsciously. Now is the time to witness your Ego’s attacks, and rise above them by bringing acceptance and love to the table instead. This is not always easy, and your Ego will fire up and fight hard against the idea, so be extra compassionate and keep letting go one moment at a time with the tools you have learnt so far.

Again – you have to get brutally honest with your mind’s games here, which sometimes only cranks it up more! Simply laugh at your Ego’s littleness in these moments when it needs to keep fighting back and creating more chaos. It will come first and loudest so always check in and ask yourself – is this fueling my head or my heart?

Don’t beat yourself up or judge these attack thoughts that comes from nowhere and flare up in your mind because we all do this! It’s our unconscious pattern, and it’s time to consciously start breaking it down. Just become aware of when these thoughts arise, and use every opportunity you get to choose again and strengthen your commitment to bringing the love and peace, not the attack!

MANTRA: I can witness my attack thoughts and rise above them with love.

Notice today where your mind wants to fight back with more attack. Notice where you get easily offended and take things personally, or over-analyse something that someone said to you and let a story run wild in your mind about how they are always out to get you (classic Ego craziness). Question what the hidden agenda of your Ego really is. Does it need to be right? Is it going into victim mode and thinking ‘poor me’? It is trying to start a fight and keep you low vibin’?

At the end of the day reflect on today’s lessons in your journal.

What triggers my attack thoughts?

Why do I attack back?

How does attacking back make me feel?

What fires up my Ego most?

++ This post is straight from ‘Week 3 – Oh hello, Ego!” of my 8 week Head to Heart ecourse where I’ll teach you how to turn down the volume of the voice in your head and crank UP the volume of the voice in your heart. If you’re living all ‘up in your head’ all the time, then it’s time to get out of your head and back into your heart, and this course is your way out!

Enrollment for the final Round of 2017 close Friday the 19th of May.
